5 day tour to the Isle of Bute.

Well I set off Monday 18th March, had to detour via M62,M61 and M6 as snow was falling in north yorkshire and the A66 was closed, stopped on way up at Moffat mill and had a lovely pot of red berry

No more misdemeanours and we just made it to the ferry as the last car pulled onto the ramp! The passengers 1st view of the hotel the Glenburn in Rothesay.

Back to work

After my few days off its back to work on Monday 5day tour to the Isle of Bute,

been up there before and it's a beautiful place, looking forward to it..a couple of pics from my last visit, our hotel The Glenburn.

I'm taking my 6ft spinning rod and some jigs for a bit of fishing on the shore and rocks.

Last knockings 2013

That's the season brought to a close and for the 1st time in many years the weather got the better of me and I never fished the last 2 days. Coldest March week for 35 years I was told and it felt like it.

Looking forward to fishing for tench on a water I rediscovered last season.

Throop

We decided a day on the Dorset Stour at Throop was in order, shame about the weather! -1oC and 25mph northerly wind making it feel more like -10oC and snow showers all day. We called at Ringwood Tackle for day tickets, very helpful lads in there.

End of the season.

Waz is joining me for my end of season sortie this year, our 1st session was on the River Trent tonight, we fished from about 4pm till 1am and had 8 barbel between us all on meat. The weather started off 2oC and raining end ended up -1 and snow. On our way down south now to my Sister in laws, day off tomorrow to watch the football and have a few beers. Monday probably going to Throop. Warrens 11+

Holiday at last.

Ah at last 10 days off, getting fishing gear ready for tomorrow then darn sarf till the close with Waz, not looking good on the barbel front but plenty more species to go for with the predicted cold spell coming.

The New Forest, Lyndhurst and Burley today, atleast it's not raining. Just had a look round this, Shame it's sold!

Salisbury

2nd day of my 4 day Bournemouth,in Salisbury just now and it's lovely and warm 15oC. Sat by the river taking it all in, roll on Friday when I'm off for 12 days! Tonight come on the reds lets get through to the ne t round of the champions league.

Working again

Mystery weekend, don't think any of my passengers follow me on here, so it's Lichfield markets, then staying in Coventry tonight ( free beer in the bar) and Stratford upon Avon tomorrow (city tour organised). 4Day Bournemouth on Monday then 10 days off!

Bit nippy

Ladybower reservoir opening day, not really my style of fly fishing (nymphs and lures) but Chris asked if I'd go with him so I said yes and he booked the boat. Early start saw us in Hathersage for a "full Monty" then on to Ladybower, by hell it was cold, only time I've fly fished with gloves on! Chris had a suicide rainbow and I missed one pull! Did I say it was cold!!
